Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss and Kangana Ranaut’s Lock Upp are two of the most celebrated as well as controversial Hindi reality shows. While Bigg Boss has successfully completed 17 seasons on TV, Lock Upp has just completed its first season, which premiered on the OTT platform. However, even with just one season, the makers of Lock Upp proved why their show can be a big threat to Bigg Boss. Both shows more or less have the same format, and that’s the reason viewers keep comparing them. In fact, season 1 of Lock Upp was hailed as better than all the past seasons of Bigg Boss. Amidst the competition, we now hear that there is a huge possibility that Lock Upp 2 and Bigg Boss 18 may clash as both shows will start around the same time.

Salman Khan, Kangana Ranaut’s reality shows to have a premiere clash?
According to Amar Ujala, there is a significant possibility that Salman Khan-hosted reality TV show Bigg Boss 18 might clash with Kangana Ranaut’s Lock Upp season 2. Recently, Ekta Kapoor confirmed that the second season of Lock Upp indeed will be coming. She also mentioned that it will start at the end of this year. It’s safe to say that Ekta may start the premiere of Lock Upp 2 somewhere around October or November 2024. Talking about Bigg Boss 18, we all know that the makers of Bigg Boss from the past few seasons have been launching their show at the end of every year. Bigg Boss usually starts from October and goes up until January or February. The fact that both shows will premiere around the end of the year certainly predicts a high possibility that the reality shows are all set to clash.
While Bigg Boss premieres on TV, Lock Upp 1 was premiered on an OTT platform. Speculations, however, are rife that the makers of Lock Upp 2 are planning to take their show to the television platform. Lock Upp season 1 premiered in February 2022. Munawar Faruqui won the show, while Payal Rohatgi was the first runner-up. Lock Upp has given Munawar’s career a much-needed boost. Post Lock Upp’s success, Munawar now enjoys a massive fan following due to which he also participated in Bigg Boss 17 and even won the Salman Khan-hosted show.
